Unique things to do in auckland

Known as the "City of Sails" and boasting a population of nearly 1.7 million people, or nearly half the country's total population, Auckland sprawls out between Manukau Harbour to the west and Waitemata Harbour to the east.

The city's compact central district sits right beside the waterway.

Auckland was our point of arrival and departure on our most recent trip, and we spent several days soaking up the vibe of the city's waterfront and downtown, as well as exploring the attractions outside the city center.

Having not been to the city in well over a decade, we were shocked and impressed with the transformation the city has undergone.

While many people fly in and head out to see other parts of the country, this is definitely a worthwhile place to visit and spend some time.
